Moving On

“Politics is broken, it doesn’t have to be this way. Let’s change it.” This is what Chuka Umunna said this week as a new political group was launched. The BBC recently aired some of Jimmy McGovern’s powerful contemporary dramas about characters wanting to ‘move on’ with their lives as they face some very difficult dilemmas. How about you? Are you facing a challenge and want something new and different?

Each of us is unique, bringing something very special to our many and various relationships. There are times when we too have to make some difficult decisions about what to do as we think about our career, finances, health, politics and much more.

The good news is that when we are burdened Jesus invites us to come to him because he wants to help. The toil and impact of these decisions can weigh heavily on us, and others, as we try to move forward and we need relief.

Remember you are not on your own when faced with tough decisions – even if you feel lonely. Some are tempted to share their dilemmas on social media, but instead, turn to a trusted friend, or better yet, turn to the one who can always be trusted: Jesus Christ.

Also remember, organisations like the Samaritans are there to help those in need.
